Forensic rhetoric is the study of "what did or did not happen." Forensic rhetoric is therefore closely connected to the analysis of narration. Methods for proving "narrative truth" can be applied to the case of "Wickham vs. Darcy" from Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. We sort between conflicting versions in an attempt to recover genuine and convincing knowledge of the past events.
